Love is in the airt with new episodes ready for fans who love a romantic series to watch!
Out December 19th, Netflix’s “Virgin River” sixth season arrives with a wedding season as background. It’s Mel and Jack who are getting ready for a spring wedding, not free from ups and downs, dramas and a handful of secrets like the ones that have encaptured the streaming service’s audience over the years.
Be ready to be transported also to a time voyage, with details from Mel’s father’s past all the way back to the 1970’s.
With actors Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson as the main couple, and John Allen Nelson as Mel’s biological father, the series is back with 10 new episodes, already available for playing all through the holiday season.
“Virgin River” was originally released in 2019, with the tale of Mel, a nurse that moves from Los Angeles to a small ciy upstate looking for a restart in her life.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has a little more information about what to expect from the new season of “Virgin River”: “I knew this season needed to be the wedding season. It was time. It felt like a great event to build around, so everybody had as much forethought and time to plan as possible … It felt very Virgin River in its production — the ambition of it and that we’re a small group of people that care about something so much: the fans. So we just busted our humps to get it done”, says the show’s creator.
The plot of season 6 starts a few months after the ending of last season’s Christmas finale, just in time to prepare for a spring wedding. The fresh batch of episodes also bring new faces to the screen: Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr are new additions to the cast, but not to meddle with Mel and Jack. They play Mel’s younger mother and father all through flashback scenes that recount how they met in the 1970’s, and how they turned their ambitions as an actvist and a singer into a full-blown love affair.
Patrick Sean Smith also promises new turning points for characters like Brady, Kaia and Preacher. “Brady will be volunteering at the Virgin River fire station under Fire Chief Kaia, who is pulled into Preacher’s past sins”, with a tease that you will have to confirm as you watch new episodes: “Also this season we’ll be surprised by some returning favorites from the past.”
If watching 10 new episodes of “Virgin River” new season feels like a breeze, you can get your hopes up: the show is returning for a seventh season, as confirmed by Netflix.
