Paris Fashion Week 2025: dates and schedule
Oh, Paris… Paris keeps its longstanding reputation as global capital of fashion by hosting a series of fashion weeks all throughout the year that works hard to set new fashion trends, raise the bar on creativity and keep its reign above all the other fashion week capitals.
The city shines its lights every season with a fresh round of models, designers, journalistas and fashionistas from all over the world, turning its streets into a stylish background to luxurious hotels, must-visit restaurants and nightclubs, museums and its most coveted fashion stores.
Have we mentioned it goes on more than one occasion each year? Yes, Paris Fashion Week goes on according to a rich schedule dedicated to different aspects of runway fashion, bringing together international and local luxury brands, creative radicals and style power week after week.
Its calendar gets a kickstart in January, with menswear and couture fashion shows. March is when all the fashion caravan comes back for womenswear fall runway shows and new colections, right after New York, London and Milan.
In June, it’s time again for the menswear shows, now dedicated to the following spring collections, right before a new round of couture presentations, early July. Finally, in September, it’s time for the spring/summer womenswear shows, with news and trends that will get to stores by the following month of March.

How to watch a fashion show at Paris Fashion Week
As a rule, Paris Fashion Week events are closed to direct guests of fashion houses and professionals in the field (fashion journalists, editors, stylists, correspondents, photographers).
To participate in a major fashion week, the official path is to strengthen relationships with participating brands, their local teams or with professionals and publications that work in the segment. You can also become close as you firm a relationship by being a client or as you network with PR executives or professionals from every area that is involved with fashion weeks.

Why is Paris Fashion Week so important
According to researchers, fashion show presentations to showcase new fashion trends come from French history, particularly from the period of King Louis XIV, who gathered together names from the court to honor new creations – and also to exclude opponents from having the opportunity to be “in the know” about new trends (although the word was not established as we use it today).
The format of the fashion week event as we know it today, with presentations that anticipate launches for the next seasons, was also established based on the creative importance of French designers who made history in fashion, such as Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Paul Poiret and Yves Saint Laurent. When information was more centralized and hierarchical, it was from Paris that the references and ideas that would be replicated by different countries came.
Due to its importance, it was also on its catwalks that major moments of rupture with the more traditional language of fashion occurred, whether in the rise of Japanese designers in the 1980s, with Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto, for example, or Martin Margiela, or in the consolidation of more recent talents such as Rick Owens, John Galliano, Demna or Phoebe Philo, famous for advancing fashion ideas a little further over the years.
Thus, Paris Fashion Week established itself as the creative hub and, with the strengthening of its brands as companies, the commercial hub of the luxury clothing and accessories market. For this reason, to this day, Paris Fashion Week is closely followed by those who work in the segment and its surrounding areas, including the fashion press, creative professionals and businesspeople in the segment.
